Using the Punky Semi - Permanent Violet Hair Colour Dye is a breeze. First, shampoo your hair and dry it. Then, apply petroleum jelly or baby oil around your hairline and on your ears to prevent staining. Put on rubber gloves and use a tinting brush to evenly apply the colour from the roots to the ends of your hair. Comb through the hair to spread the colour. Leave it on for about 15 - 30 minutes, then rinse it out and throw away the remaining mixture. Remember to wash your hands after application. The colour will fade with each shampoo and may last for 5 - 40 washes, depending on your hair type, condition, and porosity. For the best results, apply it to dry, bleached hair first and don't condition it. Now, for the important stuff. Don't use this product near your eyes as it can cause blindness. Avoid contact with your skin and clothing because it will stain. Keep it out of reach of children. Since it may cause skin irritation on some people, do a preliminary test before each use. Clean a small area of skin behind your ear or on your inner forearm with soap, water, or alcohol. Apply a small amount of the hair colour and let it dry. If there's no irritation, you're good to go. If you get the dye in your eyes, flush them with water for 15 minutes, remove contact lenses if you're wearing them, and see a doctor. Rinse skin with water if it gets stained. If ingested, consult medical personnel. The dye can stain porous things like skin, clothing, towels, and bathroom surfaces. Cover the area where you're applying and removing it with disposable materials. Rinse your hair directly under a faucet, away from your face, neck, or body. To reduce staining, you can use peroxide - based cleansers, bleach - based sprays, a paste of baking soda and liquid dish soap, or toothpaste on a cloth with a bit of warm water.
